Holidays in the Caribbean

8 Dec

Hello from the Ms Maasdam. Our Xmas decorations are up and the Holiday spirit is in full swing. Its still a little strange to be celebrating the holidays when its 80 + degrees out. But we are pressing on. Here are some of our great guest pictures from the last voyage. Thanks to Stan from Canada for these.

Fun in the Sun and in the Sea

25 Nov

Greetings from the Ms Maasdam. We have just completed our 13 day southern

Caribbean cruise. Traveling  to such spots as Curacao and ST Barts. Below are some of the outstanding pictures taken by our guests. I would like to thank George for the Iguana picture and Jim and Ruth (celebrating their 67th wedding anniversary) for the great panoramas. Also note the picture of our DJ Rene under the water in Bonaire.

Winter in the East Caribbean Islands

17 Nov

Hello from the Ms Maasdam. We are floating through the winter by visiting some beautiful islands on the eastern side of the Caribbean Sea. One day while docked at St Thomas USVI we ended up next to the Oasis of the Seas, the world’s largest cruise ship. Take a look at this picture below—quite a difference don’t you think?

We are now in our second week with brand new computers and new software for our guests in the Digital Workshop. They really seem to be enjoying the newest version of Window Live Essentials. You can download our electronic versions of the class handouts at http://haldigitalworkshop.wordpress.com. I know that you will enjoy working with the new version.

Caribbean Happenings

3 Nov

Well, here we are cruising the Caribbean Sea. What a wonderful way to spend the winter months! Here are some of the pictures we have taken so far, I hope that you will enjoy them.

Photo Fuse  introduces an easy-to-use and innovative tool for combining portions of photos. The most popular use will, no doubt, be getting group shots with everyone having a beautiful smile. Take a number of photos of a similar scene and highlight them. Click on “create” and then choose “photo fuse” and  the same area from each photo is presented in the “Which do you like best?” box. All you need to do is click the chosen image and the program maps that part into the combined picture. Take a look at these examples:

Now take a look at the finished product—a near perfect picture of this group.

Great group

I hope that you will have fun using this innovative new feature of Windows Live Essentials for 2011.

Until next time,
