Well, as 2010 has began, we begin to reflect on the things that happened last year and the possibilities of the new year.  It seems like just yesterday when the couches were being put together and the Digital Workshop was being launched at the end of January on the Maasdam.  A year later and the room and the program is running smoothly, new Techsperts have stepped foot onto ships, and new Digital Worshops have been launched on 12 of the 13 ships in the fleet.  Lots of changes and activity for 12 months, but most, if not all, of these changes were greated with excitement and promise.
So what does that mean for 2010?  Windows 7 launched in Q4 of last year for Microsoft and launched on the ships in the Digital Workshop as well, and I feel the room and workshops have been a great outlet for people to test drive and experience a fantastic operating system while on vacation.  With the addition of a new, powerful operating system comes the capabilities of new and exciting material to teach.  Digital Camera technology, "I’ve Been Framed" :), advances in digital storage, who knows.  With the new year though comes a new slate of possibilities and an unlimited amount of potential to grow.
However, what is the biggest help to all of this?  You, the cruiser, the Digital Workshop student.  You help us build our program and you help us keep it running.  So a big big THANK YOU should be extended to you for your help, support, and enthusiasm over the past year here on the Maasdam, and I also want to ask a favor.  Submit your ideas using our comment section and ask or give ideas for how we can continue to help.  Sure we’ve got some ideas popping around our heads, but your ideas are the ones that matter the most.  So get to it!!

glad that holland has put something like this together, and the best it\’s free. What a great way for the passengers to have something that their family and friends can see where they are going and doing. Keep up the great work. I have been on 2 ships that have this program on them. Even though i have been on the 2 ships more than once, Amsterdam in 08/2009 and then maasdam 09 and 10. I love it. Looking forward to seeing what the visita class has in store for me in march. There is only one complaint. The couches, holland needs to have a better design about the furniture. They are too low. They should have put in adjustable chairs or something.

Thanks, Wil, for your most informative classes! Suggestions: Help students construct more ambitious projects during their time with you, for which they can get personal attention in the non-class periods. Perhaps classes on common programs (e.g. Word, Excel) would be of interest as well, as would a class on \’surfing techniques.\’

Hey Will,You and your classes were sure missed when you left the Maasdam in San Diego. The next two weeks aboard had some boring hours at sea with nothing planned to take your place. It left me wishing I had some quilting material AND my sewing machine! I do want to thank you for your amazing patience in answering all of my questions and all of the neat things you taught all of us. I hope your foot is all healed up and that you have smooth sailing days ahead. Cheers, Helen [ the quilt lady ] from Pawleys Island, SC
